Rant about websites that make you create an account...

Tonight, as I was making travel arrangements through Travelocity I figured out something that I really hate about websites...just because I use a website, why should I have to create an account? Does using a website warrant you to create an account? After all, everyone wants your email address, home phone number, and home address...how many times have you read the privacy policies of a website? How secure are the host servers? Who has access to your information? Then, if you go ahead and provide the information you have to protect the information with a password...how is the password protected? Is it hashed or encrypted?

Here is an open letter to all websites...let me make a reservation or purchase without having to create an account. Please.
