First week recap in Nashville

Made it through our first week in Nashville. Honestly, it is everything I thought it would be and more. When we arrived on last Friday, the weather was unseasonably hot. It actually seemed hotter than Houston. One nice thing about Nashville weather, it does "cool" down in the evening and mornings, whereas in Houston, you never get relief from the heat in the summer months.

Gracie doesn't dig the stairs too much in our home. She has only gone upstairs once with the coaxing of Charlotte.  Ester on the other hand is marching up and down the stairs like a seasoned pro.

We made pretty good progress on the boxes. Tennessee's green reputation is true.  We found a local recycling station where we've taken the mounds of packing paper and boxes. Kind of nice b/c it saves us $150 to have the movers remove the boxes.

We made a mistake putting the office desk in one of the other bedrooms b/c it does not have cable hookup and thus I'm unable to keep the wireless router and printers in there.  We'll be hiring some movers to come and move the desk into the bonus room.  Also, the floor plan is not open and thus the house seems smaller. We rented a storage so we can put some of the items that don't fit here in it for the next year as we look for our permanent housing.

Commute to the office is 25 minutes with no traffice and via a winding road through the rolling hills. With the high price of gas though, we'll need to look at replacing the Explorer next year as it just costs too much to fill up and get's a measly 17mpg with the commute.
