How to ask a question

This morning, I caught myself doing a bad behavior. I was leading my
wife with a simple question of "how did you sleep?"

Let me explain. When I asked the question, I also included "how did
you sleep, did you sleep bad because of pain or stress?" Do you see
the difference? With the way I worded the question, I was also
answering for her. I was not giving her the chance to tell me exactly
how she slept.

I find myself doing this often. Now that I have the awareness, I'll
stop. And if you try the samething, I believe you will find yourself
communicating better.
