Blogger widget on the Dashboard
Been trying to figure out the appeal for the Mac Dashboard. As I was browsing the gallery of widgets for the dashboard, I came across a Twitter and Blogger widget. So, what's so cool about them?
Well, I think I'm finally starting to form an answer.
First off, if I want to post to Blogger, I don't have to go to email or the blogger website to make a post. I simply press the F12 key and start typing my post.
Secondly, similarily, if I'm on the Mac and not my iPhone, I can send updates to Twitter with the F12 key and enter my Tweet in the Twitter dashboard.
In a nutshell, the widgets provide simple interfaces into common programs or utilities you find handy. With the dashboard one key press away, that makes these programs and utilities one key press away as opposed to navigating to a website or launching another program.
A couple of other widgets I'm finding useful is the Weather Underground and iStat Pro widgets.
