Burns Branch Day Hike

Today, my wife and I went on our first day hike in Tennessee. The location was Burns Branch which is located along the Natchez Trace Parkway. The hike starts out pleasant and meandering along the banks of the Burns Branch Creek. As you continue, you begin a quick ascent up to Duck River Ridge (Tennessee Valley Divide). The divide separates the Cumberland and Tennessee river water sheds. The hike took 2.5 hours with a nice lunch break at the end of the trail.

FOXNews.com: House Atwitter Over Rules Governing Video, Blog Posts

This article about a Texas House Represantive is way cool. It's an example of how stuffy politicians are coming of age in the wired world. The security committee need to pull their head out of theo asses and instead of censoring the communicate outlet. They should ebrace it. Hats off to tv rep from Texas.

Getting some exposure @ stock.xchng

Yesterday, I received an email from a company called Urbane Nomads asking if they could use a photo I have listed on stock.xchng. I completely forgot that I uploaded this photo to the stock.xchng site which provides royalty free stock photographs. This is the third time I've been requested to use the photo. Too bad I can't remember the other two times. I asked Urbane Nomads to send me a link to the page with my photo. Hopefully they'll provide that courtesy to me.

I took this photo of a bicycle on the side of the road while travelling through China. The title of the photo is simply "Bicycle"

House sold last week!

Yes, we sold our home last week on July 3rd!  We feel fortunate in this housing market to get it sold within a few months.  The sale was very effecient and no difficult negotiating was required.

This makes it official, we are Tennesseans as our ties to Houston our gone.  Next thing to do is get new driver license and license plates.

We are getting settled in this weekend.  We went to Leipers Fork this weekend to look at some antiques.  Woa, they were expensive.

We also went to Franklin's July Forth celebration. In the downtown historic district, Main St. is shut off, 3 music stages are set up, and plenty of food vendors line the streets.  Additionally, artisans and merchanges set up booths peddeling their goods.  It was nice to see a small town come to life.

I really love Nasvhille and so excited to be here.
